Our Goal is to raise 3 million dollars by the end of 2008,

with $1 million in pledges raised

by the end of 2007.

The support for The ZOO has been overwhelming.  

There are times in your life when the simplest of gestures have the greatest impact.  

Year to date  donations and Fundraising activities totaling over $123,767.22

has been raised in our community.

To Date, $201,654.00 has been made in pledges to the Save The Zoo Fund.

In kind donation totaling  $93,679.16 have been made to the Save The Zoo Fund.

 

All totaling $419,100.38

That is 40% of our GOAL!!!!

  • When the Waldorff family sent in their check to support The Zoo, they also enclosed $15.00 cash from their young son, Nathan. 

  • When the Thomas family lost their dad, they asked friends and family to donate to The Zoo, in lieu of flowers, to the memory of their father, John L. Thomas.

  • M &M Electric not only became a Corporate Member of The Zoo, but also bought each and every one of their employees a ZOOFriends Family Membership. 

  • Kaitlyn, age 9, wanted to help The ZOO, so she is designing a special bumper sticker with a business plan to sell them to raise money for The ZOO's animals.

  • Becky Nicholson, (mom, neighbor, and social worker) organized her neighborhood and several local business to recycle aluminum cans and is donating the money to The Zoo.

  • Hand Crafted bracelets are being sold                                                                                                         around the community and now at our gift shop.                                                                                           These are designed, handmade,                                                                                                                   and donated from local children to help their zoo! 

  • Jordan Taylor and Avery Stine went door to door                                                                                in their neighborhood and collect $123.03 to help save their zoo!

  • Miranda Arce posted a message on a kids                                                                                          only website to help the zoo.                                                             http://www.dosomething.org/node/32902                                                                                                      and she mailed out over 700 cards                                                                                                                to her friends asking them to support The Zoo!

 

  • Nancy Avritt wrote and produced a CD and donated                                                                                100 to be sold at The Zoo's gift shop, with all proceeds                                                                            supporting The Zoo!                                                                                                                                     Check her site out - www.nancyavritt.com                                                                                                     You can hear some of her music on our website!!!!

  • Gooniez, Inc donated memorabilia from High School Musical                                                          signed by Zac Efron and Drew Seeley to help                                                                                         raise money for The Zoo!

 

  • The Purple Chics of The Red Hat Society                                                                                            made a $250 donation to The Zoo and                                                                                                challenged all Red Hat Ladies to do the same.

 

 

 

 

  • The Emerald Coast Parrot Head Club and The Parrot Heads of Pensacola joined together to help the zoo with a fundraiser of Jimmy Buffet Lovers!

  • Belk department store in the Mary Esther Mall held an employee breakfast and raised $240.00 for The Zoo.  Bobbi Rupell stated "I can't imagine Gulf Breeze or any place with out a zoo, growing up some of my best childhood memories  were of time spent at the zoo."

  • Phyllis Bohannon raised $614 with a garage sale!                                                                                She posted a sign stating that the money was to be                                                                                  donated to The Zoo. 

  • Mr. Lewis donated $91,000 in birds and cages to The Zoo!!!

  • Alyx Jeffries, celebrated her 9th birthday at the Zoo  on Sunday, October 28th. 

and decided instead of gifts,  she would ask each person to make a small monetary donation to the Zoo, she had $220.00 to donate!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Southern Oasis Landscape, Inc. donated over $2,000.00 in
    sable palms and other plants for Lemur Island!


     

 

 

 

  • Sally Tringas' Cordova Park Elementary first grade class donated $95.00 in her honor this December!

These represent a fraction of the wonderful people who have stepped up with support to "Save our Zoo". 

The staff have been touched by the outpouring of assistance.  THANK YOU!!!

conservation, education, and ZOO improvements to help ensure

· *continued excellence in basic husbandry, care and medicine for the ZOO’s many wonderful wild creatures

· *continued excellence in ZOO animals’ nutrition, food and diets

· *continued repairs and improvements to ZOO landscape and grounds

· **continued repair to damaged exhibits and building of new ones

· *continued wildlife and ecological information, conservation and education programs for school kids and all ZOO visitors
